RISE OF THE UNINSURED
The average American will spend over 540 hours in their car this year; that works out to about 10 hours a week, or 1.5 hours a day. With that much time on the road, auto insurance is more than justifiable, and not to mention, mandated by every state. However, at least 16 percent of the drivers on the road are uninsured motorists. And that percentage continues to increase every year.
COST OF THE UNINSURED
If you are involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist and they are at fault, the chances are better than not that you will never recoup all of the costs of damag e from that driver. Let's face it, if a person can't afford to buy insurance, they probably can't afford to fix your car. This is why choosing the right coverage becomes paramount because not only are you protecting yourself from your own fault, but also from the thousands of drivers who could cause you to take a loss.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT COVERAGE
If you can afford full coverage from a reputable company, buy it without hesitation. Even if you are an excellent driver who has never been in an accident, you need to protect yourself against other motorists. It is well worth the peace of mind to know that even though people increasingly drive without insurance, that you will be covered no matter what.
